Products: Cisco RV042 Dual Broadband 4 Port VPN Router
Comments: 4 Port version of the RV082. Compatible with Cisco ProtectLink web filtering subscription. Click here for more information. Click here for purchasing information from the OzCableguy online shop. Cisco RV082 Dual Broadband 8 Port VPN Router
Comments: Allows two Broadband connections simultaneously which can be setup either to use one exclusively and just fail over to the second one if the main one drops out, or to load share and use a bit of each one at the same time. You can't double your speed as such but load sharing allows more bandwidth to be available for more users so the overall effect is that each person on the Network should get better speeds, but never individually faster than the fastest ADSL connection Compatible with Cisco ProtectLink web filtering subscription. Click here for more information. Click here for purchasing information from the OzCableguy online shop.. Note: IPSec VPNs are somewhat complicated to setup and usually require an Internet Connection with a Static IP address (at least on the Server end) and a minimum of Windows 2000 behind it to allow for the setup of the necessary security policy. Cisco RVS4000 4 Port Gigabit VPN Router
Comments: Built-in 4 port Gigaswitch, port based VLAN, 5 IPSec VPN tunnels + 5 "QuickVPN Tunnels" which is included free VPN client software for Windows 2000 or XP to suit the RVS2000. Compatible with Cisco ProtectLink web filtering subscription. Click here for more information. Click here for purchasing information from the OzCableguy online shop. Cisco WRP400 4 Port 802.11G Wireless Router with VoIP & 3G support
Comments: A basic wireless router with a built-in ATA for VoIP and (in the latest firmware version) support for some USB 3G modems*. I'm slightly disappointed that it doesn't have an FXO port for failover to a standard phone line but then I find demand for that particular feature is 50/50 anyway, especially now with the growing popularity of "Naked DSL". * Click here for 3G modem compatibility list (not all 3G modems are compatible) Note: A customer reports receiving a WRP400 24/6/09 and it came with a "reserved" sticker over the USB port and the latest firmware version (2.00.05) would not work with the Huawei E169 modem so 3G serviceability may not be quite there yet for the Aussie market. Cisco WRV210 4 Port 802.11G Wireless Router with VPN
Comments: Replacement for the WRV200 (most likely just a change of chipset due to price and/or availability reasons) For best wireless performance use in conjunction with Cisco WMP200 PCI card for desktop PCs, WPC200 PCMCIA card for laptops and WUSB200 USB adapter. Note: IPSec VPNs are somewhat complicated to setup and usually require an Internet Connection with a Static IP address (at least on the Server end) and a minimum of Windows 2000 behind it to allow for the setup of the necessary security policy. Cisco WRVS4400N 4 Port Gigabit 802.11n MIMO Wireless Router with VPN
Comments: Pretty much an 802.11n wireless version of the RVS4000 with a built-in 4 port Gigaswitch, port based VLAN, 5 IPSec VPN tunnels + 5 "QuickVPN Tunnels" which is included free VPN client software for Windows 2000 or XP. Compatible with Cisco ProtectLink web filtering subscription. Click here for more information. Click here for purchasing information from the OzCableguy online shop. |
