Products: D-Link DGL-4500 4 Port 802.11n Router
Comments: Takes over from the old DGL-4300 adding D-Link's "Xtreme N" (draft 802.11n wireless) and a neat LCD panel on the top displaying network activity. Note: SharePort also features 3G modem capability but without a list of compatible 3G modems I can't class SharePort capable products as 3G compatible at this stage. Compatible products: D-Link DIR-120 4 Port Router with USB Print Server
Comments: Replacement for the popular DI-704UP. D-Link DIR-130 8 Port VPN Router
Comments: Cheap and cheeful 8 port router with 8 built-in VPN end points.(Replaces the DI-808HV) D-Link DIR-320 4 port 802.11G Wireless Router with USB Print Server
Comments: A 4 port router with a USB Print server*. (Replaces the DI-524UP) * USB Print servers can be great but they don't work with all printers. In particular most multifunction printers are commonly found to be incompatible with generic USB print servers. (See my USB Print Server page for more.) D-Link DIR-330 4 port 802.11G Wireless VPN Router
Comments: A 4 port 802.11g wireless router with 8 VPN endpoints. Spec sheet shows a USB port but according to the manual it isn't yet in use. I expect a firmware update one day might allow this to be used for Windows Connect Now) wireless security settings or as a print server using D-Link's Shareport technology. D-Link DIR-412 N150 3G Broadband Router
Comments: A small N150 wireless router for *3G USB modems. It also has an ethernet WAN port that can be configured as either WAN or LAN, and when used as a WAN port with an ADSL or Cable modem plugged in it can failover from the 3G connection should it go down. * Click here for compatible 3G modems. (Not all 3G modems are compatible)
D-Link DIR-451 4 port 802.11g+ wireless 3G Mobile Router (supports several USB & PCMCIA 3G modems)
Comments: An 802.11G+ wireless router for 3G Internet with support for both PCMCIA & USB modems. Note: This product is only suitable for 3G Internet connections. It is not compatible with Cable or ADSL modems. D-Link DIR-600 4 port "Wireless 150" 802.11n Wireless Router
Comments: A cheap and cheerful wireless router using D-Link's "Wireless 150" technology promising speeds of up to 150mbs when used with 802.11n wireless adapters, and backwards compatability with 802.11g & b adapters (albeit at slower speeds). D-Link DIR-615 4 port 802.11N Wireless Router
Comments: A basic Draft 802.11n Wireless Router. D-Link DIR-655 4 port 802.11N Wireless Router
Comments: Similar to the DIR-635 but with a 4 port giga switch instead of 10/100. Note: SharePort also features 3G modem capability but without a list of compatible 3G modems I can't class SharePort capable products as 3G compatible at this stage. For best results use with D-Link Xtreme N or RangeBooster N wireless adapters. D-Link DIR-685 Xtreme N Storage Router with gigaswitch
Comments: One of the most innovative products I've seen for a long time with its unique LCD screen and upright design. The LCD screen has a touch pad and can be configured to display router, network and hard drive status, time and date, photos stored on any attached hard drives, RSS content such as weather & news feeds and it can even stream video. Inside is space to accept a 2.5" SATA drive to use as network storage. I couldn't find a list of supported hard drives on D-Link's website so I recommend contacting them for confirmation before forking out for a hard drive to find it doesn't work. However, the DIR-685 router is available from D-Link with an optional 160GB or 250GB hard drive. (Click here for price & availability from my online shop) Two USB ports are included on the back which can be used for WCN, USB external drives & thumb drives, printers*, scanners and even a 3G modem**. As with the hard drives though, D-Link do not mention a compatibility list for the printers & scanners so best to call them to confirm before buying. However, I would expect that the compatibility list for the DPR-1260 would be a reasonable rule of thumb. * Print server function uses D-Link Shareport software
Note: SharePort also features 3G modem capability but without a list of compatible 3G modems I can't class SharePort capable products as 3G compatible at this stage. 802.11n Wireless*** and a 4 port gigaswitch complete the package for the best of everything. *** For best results use with D-Link Xtreme N wireless adapters. D-Link DIR-825 4 port 802.11N Xtreme N Dual band Gigabit Router.
Comments: A well priced dual band 11n router with with a built-in 4 port gigabit switch. Dual band (2.4GHz and 5.0GHz frequencies) allows for faster wireless streaming suitable for HD video and is also backwards compatible with standard 802.11n or 11g as well as 802.11a. However, for best results use with D-Link Xtreme N wireless adapters. Note: SharePort also features 3G modem capability but without a list of compatible 3G modems I can't class SharePort capable products as 3G compatible at this stage. D-Link DIR-855 4 port 802.11N Xtreme N Duo Media Router.
Comments: A feature packed router with everything imaginable from 802.11n dual band (2.4GHz and 5.0GHz frequencies), a 4 port gigaswitch to a new QoS implementation D-Link have termed "Wireless Intelligent Stream Handling (WISH)". Note: SharePort also features 3G modem capability but without a list of compatible 3G modems I can't class SharePort capable products as 3G compatible at this stage. For best results use with D-Link Xtreme N or RangeBooster N wireless adapters. D-Link DSL-2642B 4 port 802.11G Wireless ADSL Modem Router
Comments: A very competitively priced 11G wireless ADSL modem with a great feature set including configurable QoS and multiple VPN pass-through. D-Link DSL-2730B 4 port N150 Wireless ADSL Modem Router
Comments: Slipping in between the cheaper 11G wireless DSL-2642B and the more expensive 11N wireless DSL-2740B, the wireless 150 2730B promises half the speed of true 11N wireless but a bit more than 11G. D-Link DSL-2740B 4 port 802.11N Wireless ADSL Modem Router
Comments: Similar to the DIR-635 with "RangeBooster N" (802.11n wireless) but with a built-in ADSL modem. For best results use with D-Link RangeBooster N wireless adapters. D-Link DSL-526B 4 Port ADSL Modem/Router
Comments: Replacement for the DSL-504Twith several upgrades including configurable QoS and SPI firewall. D-Link DSL-504T 4 Port ADSL Modem/Router
Comments: Replacement for the DSL-504G to include ADSL2/2+ support. D-Link DVA-G3670B 4 Port 802.11g Wireless ADSL Modem/Router with VoIP
Comments: An 802.11g wireless modem with 2 FXS ports to allow 2 VoIP lines and an FXO port for failover to a normal phone line. Some stiff competition in this category with similar spec'd and priced products from Billion, Netgear & Netcomm but the DVA-G3670B is the only one with a USB print server. |
